Pakistani Journalist Shot dead by Kenya Police, Confirmed Arshad Sharif Wife.

Arshad Sharif Death: Prominent Pakistani journalist Arshad Sharif killed in Kenya’s Nairobi city after reportedly being shot, Arshad Sharif wife Javeria Siddiqui confirmed on Twitter early Monday.

“I lost friend, husband and my favourite journalist [Arshad Sharif] today, as per police he was shot in Kenya,” Arshad Sharif Wife tweeted.

The Pakistan Foreign Office said that the officials of Pakistan’s high commission to Kenya has reached mortuary in Nairobi where they identified Arshad Sharif’s body.

Pakistan Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb said Pakistan’s ambassador to Kenya, Syeda Saqlain, Kenyan police officials and doctors are currently at the Chiromo Funeral House in Nairobi where the ambassador has identified Sharif’s body.

Arshad Sharif Death Reason

Kenyan media has reported that Pakistani journalist Arshad Sharif was shot dead by the Kenya police in a case of ‘mistaken identity’ on Sunday night along the Nairobi-Magadi highway.

According to media reports, Arshad Sharif was shot in the head and killed by police after he and his driver allegedly breached a roadblock that had been set up to check on motor vehicles using the route.

Sharif was specialized investigative journalist and has covered many political events in the country for national and international news organizations but got fame with the ARY prominent talk show “Power Play”.
