LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has sent the name of Rao Sardar to Prime Minister Imran Khan for the top slot of Punjab Police.
Reports quoting sources said that the Establishment Division has sent a summary to PM Imran Khan and proposed to appoint Rao Sardar as the new IG Punjab Police.
Rao Sardar had three-hour long meeting with Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar yesterday.
Rao Sardar was also summoned to the Prime Minister House last week where he had an important meeting.
According to sources, the Punjab government had also suggested two more names to replace IG Punjab Police Inam Ghani.
Along with Rao Sardar, Captain (retd) Zafar Iqbal and Amir Zulfiqar are being considered as candidates for the post of IG Punjab.
“Rao Sardar, a Grade-21 officer is the strongest candidate for the top post of Punjab Police”, the sources added.
